We Welcome You To Pitkin County!
Travel Affidavit
As of 12/14/20 all travelers must complete a Travel Affidavit before arriving. This includes a negative test and being symptom free for 10 days prior to coming to our community. Then you can enjoy the great outdoors with us and all of the creative, socially-distanced events and activities that have evolved that are the “silver lining” of the COVID-19 health crisis in our community. We’re learning about new ways to connect and no virus can keep us from enjoying our vast open spaces!
Masks are required in Pitkin County. View the full map of where masks are required in Colorado here.
Most of our restaurants have taken to the streets, you can take in a movie under the stars, or wander in the mountains to your heart’s content.
Your Promise to Us – Our Promise to You
As a community we have promised to abide by the Five Commitments of Containment to curb the spread of the virus and help us keep our community open: We will maintain social distance, we will wash our hands often, we will cover our faces in public, we will stay home if we are sick and we will seek testing immediately if we experience symptoms.
We need you to promise that you are symptom-free, and that you will join us in embracing the Five Commitments which include seeking testing if you develop symptoms while you are here.
A question we get a lot is:
Is it safe to travel to Aspen/Snowmass and surrounding areas?
Like everywhere else in the world, we are in the throes of a global pandemic. Aspen/Snowmass and the surrounding areas are not immune to positive COVID-19 cases and we conduct thorough contact tracing when cases occur. As we have emerged from the shutdown we are seeing an increase in positive cases in our community. We have been reminded by our local Public Health officials that, like nearly everywhere else in the world, we are “not out of the woods.” The virus is here and we are more vulnerable if we do not follow the Five Commitments of Containment and if we do not avoid what we’re calling the Three C’s.
