Hospital Status

  • Aspen Valley Hospital Capacity:  COMFORTABLE*
    (Based on an evaluation of  inpatient hospitalizations,  transfer capacity, healthcare workers out and average daily visits in ER, respiratory evaluation, and COVID-19 testing)
  • Pitkin County Resident Hospital Admissions: 3 (in past 28 days)
  • All Colorado Hospitalizations:
    • 90% of Acute Care Beds in Use
    • 84% of ICU Beds in Use
    • 52% of Those Hospitalized are Unvaccinated

7-Day COVID-19 Case Summary (3/30 – 4/5)

  • New Pitkin County cases: 14
  • Resident Incidence Rate: 81/100,000 

(The cumulative incidence rate is calculated by dividing the total number of cases over the census population, then multiplying by 100,000)

7-Day Testing Summary (3/30 – 4/5)

  • Positivity Rate: 5% 
  • Positivity Increase/Decrease: 4% Decrease over the prior 7-day period


Updates

State Announces Transition Plans for COVID-19 Community Testing

The state will close 40 testing sites by the end of April as part of its gradual transition from offering COVID-19 testing through state-run community testing sites to traditional healthcare settings and federal programs. 80 state-run sites will remain open. Currently, the local sites on the list to close on April 30 are the Aspen Airport cell phone lot and the Snowmass Village Town Hall. Read more.

CDPHE to Send Text Messages

Over the next two weeks, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) will send text messages and email reminders to Coloradans aged 65 and up about the authorization of a fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccines, as well as reminders to Coloradans aged 50 and up who still need their third dose. 2nd Booster Approval

On March 29th, The CDC updated their recommendations to allow certain immunocompromised individuals and people over the age of 50 who received an initial booster dose at least 4 months ago to be eligible for another mRNA booster to increase their protection against severe disease from COVID-19. Adults who received a primary vaccine and booster dose of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine at least 4 months ago may now receive a second booster dose using an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine.

Appointments Recommended. 1st, 2nd and booster doses available for Pfizer, Moderna. Pediatric Pfizer also available (age 5+). Clinic information may be subject to change. No ID required.
