Pitkin County will be hosting a Moderna-specific, 500 dose booster clinic to offer residents and visitors an opportunity to increase their protection against COVID-19 prior to the busiest week of the year in Aspen/Snowmass.
What: Moderna booster vaccines
When: Monday, December 20th – 2:00-6:00pm
Where: Aspen High School Gymnasium, 235 High School Rd., Aspen, CO 81611
Who’s Eligible: Everyone 18+ who has received their full regime of initial doses
With the Pfizer COVID-19 booster vaccine widely available throughout the valley, this Moderna booster clinic will give residents and visitors the opportunity to have another option after receiving their initial COVID-19 vaccine series. You may choose which COVID-19 vaccine you receive as a booster shot. Some people may prefer the vaccine brand they originally received, while others may prefer to get a different booster. Mix and match dosing for booster shots is allowed and considered safe by the CDC.
Everyone 18 years or older (16 years or older for Pfizer) can get a booster if it has been at least 6 months after completing your primary COVID-19 vaccination series of Pfizer or Moderna, or at least 2 months after completing your primary COVID-19 vaccination of Johnson & Johnson.
Pitkin County has administered roughly 6,000 COVID-19 booster doses and continues to administer booster doses that are contributing to the safety and wellbeing of our community. While individuals 5-17 years of age are not eligible for a Moderna or Johnson & Johnson booster dose at this time (16+ individuals have recently been approved to receive a Pfizer booster dose), they are still eligible to receive their initial series of the vaccine. Getting a COVID-19 vaccination is one of the few preventative measures you can take to stop the spread of the virus. In the meantime, remain respectful of your community and the individuals within it and mask up when appropriate.
