Be COVID-19 Conscious

COVID-19 is not gone. Unfortunately, it’s here to stay. Although Pitkin County has a high vaccination rate and continued community support for mitigation strategies, summer is our busiest season with countless visitors from around the globe. If each of us takes personal responsibility for preventing the spread of illness by making healthy best practices a priority and following the recommendations for your specific situation – it will be an incredible summer.

Follow the Healthy Best Practices

get vaccinated

I protect myself and others by getting my initial vaccination doses and boosters.

Stay home if sick

I stay home if I feel sick, monitor symptoms, and follow quarantine/isolation guidelines including isolating for 5 days after a positive test. I have a doctor who I can call if I become severely ill.

I limit exposure by wearing a mask in crowded or poorly ventilated spaces and after a known exposure.

Get tested

I have rapid tests on hand to use at the first signs of illness and as a preventative measure before attending gatherings.

  • I watch the risk level in my community and change my behavior/exposure accordingly
  • I test before and wear a mask when visiting those at higher risk
  • I have a plan for quarantine or isolation after a known exposure at a social event and I know the recommended guidelines (those who are most social will have more exposures).

  • I enjoy outdoor activities as much as possible to limit the risk of exposure/spread
  • I follow my pediatrician’s recommendation regarding my COVID-19 vaccines
